📉 Overall business was down 3.2% compared to July, but diversification kept me stable.

Why I Diversify Revenue Streams

A year ago I was doing $500k per month from affiliate and display ads (Amazon and Mediavine). Today those same sources make up less than five percent of their former glory.

That is why I spread across multiple businesses:

  • If I had stayed all in on Amazon and Mediavine, I would be struggling.
  • Instead, new ventures like LocalRank.so and Trackings.ai added $71k to August alone.
  • Diversification is insurance against algorithm changes and platform risk.

SEO Lessons From August

  1. Build in Public = Audience Growth
Sharing numbers attracts attention. One tweet about my revenue went viral and gained me over 1,000 followers in 24 hours. Transparency fuels trust and product launches.
  2. Double Down When Something Works
LocalRank started five months ago and is already my largest revenue driver. Trackings launched three days ago and is already moving fast. When I see traction, I go all in.
  3. Balance Long Term vs. Short Term
    • STR Lisbon = retirement plan with stable real estate income
    • Software and SEO products = scalable growth
    • Smaller plays like hosting and affiliates = low effort bonus revenue

Key Takeaways for SEOs and Founders

  • Do not rely on a single revenue source because algorithms can change overnight
  • Reporting your wins publicly builds authority and audience faster than ads
  • New projects can surpass old ones quickly. Five months ago LocalRank did not exist. Now it is my biggest income stream

Final Thoughts

August closed at $261,661.15, slightly down month over month but still strong. The mix of SEO products, SaaS, real estate, and affiliates shows that diversification works and building in public turns transparency into opportunity.

Next month we are launching another software project that I expect to be a home run. Stay tuned.
